How To Get The Most Number Of People To Opt In

Warning: A non-numeric value encountered in /var/www/vhosts/incomemachine.com/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/paper-template/papertemplate.php(15) : eval()'d code(3) : eval()'d code on line 392

Maybe you have an autoresponder service and you have a simple web page already set up. Now, we want to make sure that the most number of people sign up to our list. How do we do that? We do two different things. We make sure that as many people as possible see the page and you make sure that those people who do see the page sign up. What you want to do is deliver a free gift, make that gift easy to download and get as many links to that web page as possible.

You can try offering all kinds of things in exchange for signing up to your list. It can be a multi-day e-course, updates to your blog, a newsletter, but nothing converts quite as well as a free gift. But this can be very simple. It can be a 5-page PDF report or a 5-minute video or a simple piece of software. Just have something that solves a very common and desperate and specific problem. So we're going to say on the opt-in page what that free gift is and yes, actually deliver it on the other side after somebody types in their name and email address and joins your list.

The next thing you want to do is make sure that it is easy to download this gift. Someone enters their information, you send them to another page where it's very clear in giant text exactly how to get access to this video or this download. If you can make an audio or video automatically play, that's great. But it's far to call off people to have a download page with tons of links to all kinds of different areas and it's not clear where the original gift was. Make it easy to download, try it out, make sure the link is working properly, and even have a friend sign up to your list just to make sure that anyone signing up can easily get to this free gift. Because you want people to stay on your list once they've joined so build that relationship and give them the exact same thing they signed up for.

And finally, there's no point in creating the best gift or the best opt-in page if no one sees it. So get lots of links back to that opt-in page. Post articles, make forum posts, get others to promote it. But make sure that as many as possible are visiting that opt-in page so they can see your free gift and sign up for your mailing list if they decide they want it.

Look over my shoulder and follow me step by step as we create a free gift together and set up your very own opt-in page today at www.newbiecrusher.com.

What Components To Place On Your Opt-In Page

Warning: A non-numeric value encountered in /var/www/vhosts/incomemachine.com/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/paper-template/papertemplate.php(15) : eval()'d code(3) : eval()'d code on line 392

I know that when I first started creating opt-in pages or web pages where people could enter their name and email address to join my subscriber list, I overthought it and I did not know what to put on that web page. But luckily, it's pretty easy. After you make your first opt-in page, it will be easier to make your second, third and fourth opt-in pages to collect more email subscribers.

On your opt-in page, just add your headline, three good reasons why someone should join your list and specifically tell people what to type in the name and email box to join your list.

You already have your email autoresponder account set up and you've already copied your sign-up form onto a web page. And guess what? Some of the best converting web pages on the entire internet are nothing more than a headline and the sign-up form. Simpler is better in this case and what you want to do is have a giant, centered text – exactly what it is you are offering. If you're offering a newsletter, that's great. What works even better is offering a bribe like a report or a video. So state something like, "Free video shows you how to post on a forum and get a hundred clicks back to your website." Pretty simple, right? Just tell them exactly what you are offering.

But if you want to go into more detail, you don't have to write a big, long web page. You can just add three simple bullet points or three good reasons why someone would want to get this gift today. One good reason for that kind of a bribe might be that it works on any form including ones they have not yet joined. Another good reason might be that this technique only takes 5 minutes out of every day and a third good reason might be that it works over and over again automatically. We have the headline and we have three bullet points. And one final component that will get way more sign-ups to your opt-in page is telling people what to do. Literally saying, "Type your first name and email address in the box below to get your first free gift. We'll improve your conversion rate." And obviously have the form below that.

So your opt-in page now has a headline, three good reasons to get your gift and instructions on what to do and finally the form, and you now have a simple but high-converting forced opt-in page.

I want to show you how to set up your opt-in page right away the first time you try it at www.newbiecrusher.com.

Forced Opt-In, Blog Opt-In And Normal Opt-In Pages

Warning: A non-numeric value encountered in /var/www/vhosts/incomemachine.com/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/paper-template/papertemplate.php(15) : eval()'d code(3) : eval()'d code on line 392

You have an email autoresponder service and you have a sign-up form or opt-in form that allows people to enter their details to claim a free gift and begin receiving messages from you. Seems pretty simple, right? But there are a few ways you can use this to your advantage on your website depending on if you want a forced opt-in page, blog opt-in page or a normal opt-in page.

First, let's go with the simple route: a normal opt-in page. You can have any website – whether it's a shopping cart website, article website, even a blog site, whatever it is. All you have to do to add an email subscriber list and allow people to receive updates whenever you update this site, is you join a third-party autoresponder service like Aweber. Then you take the sign-up form and just paste it on any of your web pages where you want to allow people to sign up or register for updates. This is a normal opt-in form. Log in, get the sign up code for your autoresponder and paste it onto any page of your website.

This is simple but you can get even more advanced with this and the first step is the forced opt-in page. What if you required people to enter in their name and email address before they had access to your site? Many gaming sites do this, where someone comes to the site to play an arcade type of game, but before they can play, they have to type in their name and email address. They can still get access for free but the cost is name and email address which they can then use to receive updates about the site and they can unsubscribe at any time. But a forced opt-in page is where there is a nothing to do on a particular page except to sign up for something. This might be in exchange for a free gift. And once someone signs up, you can then redirect them to your blog or to your sales letter or some other kind of web page.

And finally, there's the blog opt-in. The number one missed opportunity I see happen on blogs is no one is capturing their visitor's name and email address. On a blog, it's very simple. In WordPress at least, you can go to Appearance > Widgets in the Dashboard and add what's called a 'Text Widget' and then simply paste in your sign-up form from your autoresponder into that widget. And if you don't know how to do that, just pay someone $5 to add an opt-in form to your blog site bar.

I hope that made you aware of different ways you can add an opt-in page to your website. A normal opt-in page, which is where you add the form to any content page. A forced opt-in page, where there is nothing else people can do but sign up and then they get access to the site. And finally, a blog opt-in form, where you simply add your email sign-up form to the side of your blog so that that somebody who wants to be notified whenever you make a new blog post, they can get that message.

Set up just not your blog but your opt-in page, your list and your entire business right here at www.newbiecrusher.com.

How To Set Up Your Opt-In Page

Warning: A non-numeric value encountered in /var/www/vhosts/incomemachine.com/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/paper-template/papertemplate.php(15) : eval()'d code(3) : eval()'d code on line 392

When you set up an opt-in page to build a list of subscribers and get people coming back to your blog or website over and over, you will need 3 specific components: an autoresponder service, a web page template and an opt-in form.

First of all, you need to pay a professional autoresponder service to allow you to send out messages to your subscribers. Don't try emailing these people on your own or running any kind of program on your web post or your computer. You should use a service for this and I recommend Aweber.

What this service will allow you to do is generate what's called a form that people can fill out with their details like their name and email address and after they fill out this form, they will be signed up at this service. Then you can log in to the service and send your messages to the entire list anytime you want. You need to have an autoresponder service. You will pay a small monthly fee for it but it's worth it because you can actually start building your business instead of starting from scratch every single week.

Now you have this autoresponder service set up and you're paying for it, but how do you ask people to get on your list? For this, you need a web page template. You need to have some kind of a design for a page and on that page you can add things like a headline and bullet points and even add this sign-up form so people can join your list for whatever you reason you give them and then you can begin sending them messages. Get a web page template and even if you add nothing else to that template, add what's called the 'sign-up form'. Now, what's the 'sign-up form'? When you log in to your autoresponder service, you have the ability to generate a form.

And it's just a little thing people fill out to type in their name and email address and they click the 'submit' or the 'next' button and now you are allowed to send email marketing messages to them. And you don't need to worry about what the form is made of or how it works, just know that you'll log in to your autoresponder service, you create or generate this opt-in form and then copy it back out to your web page template so somebody can go to your site, choose to sign up for your email list, and now they are a subscriber and you can send messages to them.

I want to show you right now how to create your very own opt-in form with a video tutorial found at www.newbiecrusher.com.

Why You Need An Opt-In Page

Warning: A non-numeric value encountered in /var/www/vhosts/incomemachine.com/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/paper-template/papertemplate.php(15) : eval()'d code(3) : eval()'d code on line 392

When you have an opt-in page, you can get people to sign up to your email autoresponder which allows you to have a list of everyone who has signed up for getting information from you and you can send messages to those people. What's really cool about this is you can set it all up on autopilot and we're talking today about why you need one exactly.

First of all, when you have an opt-in page, this is a page where people can sign up to your email subscriber list either for a newsletter or for some kind of a free gift. They type in their name and their email address. They might have to confirm their address but once they are on your list, they can leave at anytime but while they choose to stay, you can send them any email message you want how often you want and it can be a free tip article or link to something else.

You can get a service like this at Aweber and when you set up this page a free gift pretty much beats anything. What you do is you have a report or a video for them. Have a page saying, "Here is the free gift. Sign up here." And they sign up to get the free gift and in addition to that, they get emails from you maybe every week or a few times per month to build your relationship with them and eventually to get them to buy. You need this opt-in page because it's the best way to build your business because the next time you have an offer or product or promotion, it's going to be a lot easier for you to just send one message, get it out to 5000 subscribers than to go and get people individually to come to your site.

And that's what an opt-in page is. A page where you're offering some kind of a free gift, they sign up to your email list, they can leave it anytime, but they have chosen to receive messages from you and you can contact them anytime you want.

Robert Plank is a list builder who wants to show you how to get your own website including an opt-in page set up right now, today, at www.newbiecrusher.com.

How To Split Test And Measure The Conversion Rate Of Your Opt-In Page

Warning: A non-numeric value encountered in /var/www/vhosts/incomemachine.com/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/paper-template/papertemplate.php(15) : eval()'d code(3) : eval()'d code on line 392

Depending on what type of web page you set up online, you can always improve it. If you have a page where people can buy from you, you can always figure out how to get more people to purchase your product. If it's an opt-in page, you can always make steps to get more people to sign up for our email list. But if you make a simple change, how do you know if that change gets you more or less people to sign up? We do that with split testing. We look at the conversion rate, we run an A-B test and we use the built-in Aweber tracking to see how well our specific page converts.

Before we go any further, I want to explain what a conversion rate is. This is just the percentage of people that sign up for your email list. That means that if for every 100 people who come to your opt-in page, if 50 people sign up, that means you have a 50% converting squeeze page. It's pretty simple. If only 1 out of every 10 people show up and sign up, you now have a 10% conversion rate. You don't need any fancy tools for this, just use Aweber's tracking. And this is built right into the opt-in form. You don't have to guess. You can see exactly how many people come to your page versus how many of them sign up. If 15 people come to your web page and 5 of them sign up, then you have a 33% opt-in rate. Anything above 10% is good. Anything above 50% is great. Especially if this is a forced opt-in page where the offer is explained very clearly.

If you want to go one extra step, I use a tool called Google Website Optimizer which will allow me to split test two different web pages. I could have one page have a red headline and one web page have a blue headline and see which of these forms gets me more sign-ups. And if just changing the headline from red to blue gets me 5 more sign-ups for every 100 visitors, then that is a 5% more conversion rate and that is the version of the opt-in page that I should definitely keep.

Let's set up an opt-in page of your very own together and get your Aweber autoresponder online at www.newbiecrusher.com.

Add Testimonials And Social Proof To Your Sales Letter To Instantly Increase Conversion

Warning: A non-numeric value encountered in /var/www/vhosts/incomemachine.com/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/paper-template/papertemplate.php(15) : eval()'d code(3) : eval()'d code on line 392

Testimonials will help your sales letter because it shows that other people have taken an interest in what you have to sell and that they have received results from the product you're offering. Let's talk today about how to get testimonials, how to add them, and how to format them.

First of all, in order to get testimonials you need actual buyers. I've heard people recommend that you give out review copies which means that you might sell a book for $20 dollars but you will be handing it out for free in exchange for a review. But the problem with this is first of all if no one gives you a review, you've given these books out for nothing and the best review I've received are from real buyers.

That's why I would recommend that you launch your product at first with no testimonials because they are not required. And, after people buy, follow-up with them individually to get a testimonial out of them. Then when you follow-up, how do you get this testimonial? It's simple! Ask three questions about their experience. It doesn't even matter what three questions, ask three things and this means that they'll have to respond to you with at least three sentences, usually more.

You take their response, remove the questions and now you have a thoughtful response. These can be any three questions such as, what did you like the best about this product? What was the easiest part and what would you recommend other people can get out of this? Easy! Three questions, three different answers and now you have a detailed review. Once you have that review, you can put it on a webpage and I would recommend you put it inside of its own box.

I prefer blue boxes and take their best phrase and make it the headline of that box. For example, if you had a product and someone used it to sell a house in two days. The headline might be "Sold My House In Two Days!" And, that is a part of the length of your review they say but now it is easy to scroll around and see what that testimonial is about. Another thing that really helps is to have their picture and full name because we've all seen sales letters where the testimonial was from "Suzy T" and it looks made up.

We want to prove as much as possible that these people giving testimonials are real people. When someone gives you a testimonial, ask if they have a picture of themselves. Add them to Facebook, see if they have a picture there. Get any picture of them to prove they are a real human being and list their first name and last name. No initials, full first name, full last name and if they have a website url, a dot com name. List that as well but do not link to it. We're listing that to prove not only did they leave this review, they have a full name, they have a picture, and they have a url. And, that is as simple as testimonials have to be.

Get someone to buy, ask them some questions and format it on your webpage with the appropriate proof elements. At Newbie Crusher, I want to set up your niche, domain, opt-in page, autoresponder, sales letter, membership sites, blog and traffic and you can get access of that training instantly by going to www.newbiecrusher.com.

Add An Audio Button To Your Sales Letter In Three Easy Parts

Warning: A non-numeric value encountered in /var/www/vhosts/incomemachine.com/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/paper-template/papertemplate.php(15) : eval()'d code(3) : eval()'d code on line 392

Making a video and adding it to your sales letter is hard. Split testing takes awhile but one very simple improvement you can make to your webpage is adding an audio button. It takes you a few minutes. It makes you look more professional and it keeps people staying on your webpage for those first few seconds.

Adding an audio button is easy. We're going to use the WP audio player script to add to our webpage. We're going to use the Logitech USB Clear Chat Headset to record it and Gold Wave to save the file. And you're going to be reading what you see on the webpage.

The WP audio player script is a file you upload and a piece of code you put on your webpage that says, "Find this audio file, this MP3" and play it directly in their browser. All you have to do is download the stand alone version if you have a HG mail sales letter or install the plugin if you have a WordPress sales letter, and now it is ready to play your MP3 file. But we have to record that MP3 file first. For that we will get the $35 dollar Logitech USB Clear Chat which you can buy on Amazon, and it will record anything you say in fairly good quality.

Then you can get the shareware program Gold Wave, hit the record button, speak then save as an MP3 file. Now that you know how to record an audio file, upload it and play it on this webpage player. What do we say? Very simple! Open up your webpage, read the headline, read the first few paragraphs introducing yourself and then find a place where there's a cliffhanger and transition into telling people to continue reading the webpage.

That way you'll have your shocking statement, you'll begin telling the story but they have to keep reading the webpage to get that story. We want to limit our audio button to about one minute in length to avoid being too long and we want to read the exact text we see on the webpage because the whole point is to get them to start reading. It wouldn't make sense to show one thing in text and read something else in audio. Read what you see.

And that's how to add an audio button to your sales letter. Use WP audio player as your player. It's free and even though it does work with WordPress, there's also a stand alone edition for regular sales letters. Use the Logitech USB Clear Chat Headset to record your audio and the program Gold Wave to actually record it and save the audio file. Read the headline, read the first few paragraphs then tell people to continue reading the page to get more information.

Go to www.newbiecrusher.com right now and get your website started today on autopilot.

Should You Have A Text Video, Or Text And Video Sales Letter

Warning: A non-numeric value encountered in /var/www/vhosts/incomemachine.com/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/paper-template/papertemplate.php(15) : eval()'d code(3) : eval()'d code on line 392

When you make a sales letter, you have different options. You can make a sales letter be entirely made of text, a video and nothing else, or combine text and video. Which one is right for you? If you ask me, a text sales letter is easier to make because I don't have to worry about video sizes and I don't have to reshoot or worry about graphics or sounds.

With text I can words up on a screen and that's it. Text is good because it gets the detail oriented people. People who want to know exactly what they're buying, what's exactly in Module 3 of your course, what problems does it solve. They want to know all the details and text is helpful for that. Especially because anyone can scroll down to the bottom of the page add any points and choose to buy.

Video on the other hand is easier to pull people in and they can hear your voice, they can see whatever graphics you choose to put on the screen, and you can even set up things where people can't skim or fast forward, or scroll to the end of the video. But unfortuantely, this is also the problem because it's tough to back on a video and see exactly what you're getting, and even if there are fast forward and rewind controls, it's hard to see the big picture to see the entire offer in video.

That's why you're seeing more and more sales letters that used to be 100% video, now have text below it so that the exciting presentation is on video but the actual details of what's inside the offer or inside the course is below that video. At first glance this might seem to be the best of both worlds but this is something you need to split test because many times I've found that giving people something extra to play with, distracts them from the sales letter and many people will watch the video and leave.

Text and video is a good place to start but then you should split test text and video against text with no video, and you might be surprised at the results. But either way you shouldn't discount a text sales letter because it has been working for so long but you also shouldn't discount a video sales letter because it might convert better for your particular webpage.

I want to get you set up with your own dot com name, your own blog, your own membership site and your very own sales letter at www.newbiecrusher.com.

How Long Or Short To Make Your Sales Letter

Warning: A non-numeric value encountered in /var/www/vhosts/incomemachine.com/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/paper-template/papertemplate.php(15) : eval()'d code(3) : eval()'d code on line 392

It doesn't matter too much about your niche, price point or audience. You have to decide how long you're going to make your sales letter and adjust from there. But there is no magic number about your webpage needing to be two-pages or ten-pages long. It has to be the right length.

When I write a sales letter, I don't think ahead of time it's going to be one page long or ten pages long. It ends up being however long it has to be to list all the details but also not be too boring. We could easily go for 50 or 100-pages filling up the space and saying nothing but we will lose readers. On the other hand, if you were trying to get someone to pay you a thousand or $2,000 dollars and your sales letter was five bullet points, that probably is not enough information.

If your sales letter is on the short side, doesn't give me enough details to decide I need it. Are you telling me if it's a book, video or a class? And, if it's a video what format is it in? How long is it? What does it tell me? If it's a class, how long does the class go? What parts of it are interactive and so on. Tell me what are the details, not only that. what is in every component and why is each of those components important.

If you're only selling a 10-page report, you might not have as much to talk about and that's when you need to worry about your sales letter being too long. If it's so boring that you have to go through every single component in the table of contents or talk about everything else on every single page that's obviously too much detail.

As your price point and the amount of value you deliver goes up, then your sales letter needs to be a little bit longer as well. But there's always that danger of going too long. It's important for you to look at your own sales letter, ask people in your niche what they think, and split test to see if your sales letter is too long or too short. But when you're looking about what improvements to make, focus more on improving the headlines or focus on partof the sales letter where you might loose or discuss your readers instead of worrying about how long or short it should be.

Get your training right now at www.newbiecrusher.com to get your next website off the ground faster than you've ever done it before.
